RTPatch is a differencing engine, not another platform to adopt. It complements the update mechanism you already have — your own updater, bootloader, or OTA / fleet-management platform — and takes over one job: turning a full image into a patch that carries only what changed. You keep your transport, security, and device management. RTPatch reduces the bytes you ship by 90–99%.
What you integrate
Build Engine (host side)
Generate patches using provided out-of-the-box tools or API.
Apply / merge API (device side)
Reconstruct the exact new image on the target. Pre-compiled libraries for Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, etc. Apply source code included for embedded implementations
Tiny & portable Apply option
An optional specialized Apply port is ~41–45 KB compiled, ~14 KB RAM, no filesystem, non-POSIX, 16/32/64-bit. Runs where general-purpose tools can't.
In-place flash update
Update a live flash image with rollback and complete-on-resume after power loss; a Flash API for block devices with no filesystem.
Complements your existing system
- Fits within your existing system — RTPatch is the payload-shrinking layer, not a new platform
- ANSIC C code that readily compiles for your OS or works without an OS. Examples of ports include Android, INTEGRITY, iOS, (embedded) Linux, QNX, ThreadX, Windows (Embedded) and VxWorks. RTPatch is adaptable to proprietary and non-POSIX operating systems
- Configurable memory usage and space requirements for tightly constrained targets
- Robust Build and Apply API for building custom front-ends/li>
Why RTPatch?
RTPatch adds what a shipping product needs: a three-decade, ten-billion-patch reliability record with no reported undetected error, a sub-64 KB footprint that runs on the smallest targets, in-place flash update with rollback, and support, IP indemnity, and source from a single owner.

- Proprietary technology — 100% written and owned by Pocket Soft, with no third-party or open-source encumbrances
- Apply source code included; full source code escrow available
- IP indemnity and a Certificate of Originality available
